PYP Talks with Professional Motivator, Darren Miller

Darren Miller believes that every breath in life is a gift. It is an opportunity to see what we are truly capable of achieving in our personal and professional lives. Throughout his career in financial sales, he worked with Federated Investors, Merrill Lynch and PNC Capital Markets in Pittsburgh.

In 2013, Darren became the first open water swimmer to accomplish the ‘Oceans Seven’; a global collection of long distance, marathon swims, on all first attempts. The most important aspect of his journey was the fundraising for the families of the infant cardiothoracic ward at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Since completing the ‘Seven’, Darren has been continuing to raise vital funding through directing the Three Rivers Marathon Swim, and ultra-marathon running, including several 100-mile trail footraces over the past year.

He travels the country delivering his powerful message on developing mental tenacity, the power of visualization and maintaining positive self-talk throughout the day.

Darren lives with his wife, Alli, a fellow English Channel swimmer and cancer survivor, and their young daughter, Reagan Elizabeth, in Cranberry Township.
