You've seen their self-driving cars all around Pittsburgh, but why did Uber choose Pittsburgh as the birthplace for their self-driving cars? What impact will the self-driving technology have on the way our world moves?

Join Pittsburgh Young Professionals for our PYP Talks with Eric Meyhofer, Head of Uber's Advanced Technologies Group (ATG) in Pittsburgh PA, as he addresses these questions and more.

Eric Meyhofer is the Head of Uber's Advanced Technologies Group (ATG) in Pittsburgh PA. Having spent 11 years at Carnegie Mellon Universities Robotics Institute, as a Special Faculty member with a focus on commercializing technology, he has founded several companies. These technology companies span various robotics fields, from 3D mapping of underground mines (Mine Vision Systems, Inc.) to companies that use high power lasers to autonomously de-coat F-16 fighter jets (Titan Robotics, Inc.). However, it is one of his early startups, Carnegie Robotics, LLC., that helped pave the way to landing Uber in Pittsburgh.
