Speaker's bio:

Tom Baker was Student Body President and President of Lambda Chi Alpha while earning his Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Millersville University and served as President of the Associates for Student Development during his graduate studies in Student Affairs in Higher Education at Indiana University of PA. Tom is a graduate of the FBI Citizen's Academy (2011), Leadership Pittsburgh LDI Class XV (2008), Coro Pittsburgh’s Emerging Leaders in Public Affairs (2004), and Duquesne University’s Leadership Academy (2004).


After holding multiple positions and receiving multiple awards (see more details at http://www1.bakerleadership.com/meet-tom-baker), Councilman Tom Baker, MA, is now the Chief Community Affairs Officer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh. He is also the President of Baker Leadership, Founder of Get Involved!, Inc., and is author of ""Get Involved! Making the Most of Your 20s and 30s.""


Tom has spoken with over 30,000 students, faculty and administrators at over 225 colleges, corporations, and community groups. His presentations contain strategies, stories, and concepts that empower students, young professionals, and community leaders to improve their professional and civic lives, join and lead groups, and start making more of an impact both within and outside of work and school. Tom also motivates participants to determine how they can make a difference in positively impacting their communities, schools, companies, and organizations.
